The Coral 16mm is one of my favorite control paddles of all times, so I was so excited about the release of the Coral Pro 16mm today. I had high expectations for the Coral Pro, given that the Coral 16mm paddle has unbelievable forgiveness and provides one of my safest options to get to the kitchen effectively on drops. The sweet spot is massive, and the overall feel is insane.
The Coral 16mm is one of the only paddles that I felt may have better control than then the J2FC+.
In this article, I’ll cover my first impressions, how the Coral 16mm matches up wit the Coral Pro 16mm, the cost considerations and which paddle you should choose.
First Impressions
The Six Zero made a really strong first impression right out of the bag. First, I loved that it came with a nice paddle cover. I always appreciate when brands include a quality cover, and the 6.0 cover definitely feels like a nice bonus.
The Coral Pro is an insanely good looking paddle. The paddle has a black based with a beautiful light blue finish. The paddle comes in 3 shapes: hybrid, elongated, and wide body. The picture below shows the hybrid version.
I also really liked the overall look of the paddle. It has these small design details across the face that give it a clean but unique style, and the grit felt solid right away.
One thing that surprised me was the grip. I would honestly put this as a top 5 standard grip for me. It felt good enough that I may not even need to add an overgrip, which is rare.

My quick take: The regular Six Zero Coral looks like the better value paddle for most players, while the Coral Pro makes more sense if you specifically want the upgraded surface texture, more spin potential, and UPA-approved performance.

Which Paddle Should You Choose?
I have been really excited about the new Coral Pro for quite some time. For example, I love that the paddle has such good durable grit, and the color variation is fantastic. I could easily see this paddle being my main for a long time.
If you have to play USAP certified tournaments or if the extra $20 stretches your budget, then the Coral is always a solid option. Actually, it’s regardless a great paddle at that price point of $180 considering this is a premium paddle from a premium brand.
