I had such a great experience with Warping Point’s Ascent control pickleball paddle that I was so excited when Warping Point created a brand new line of paddles, including a power, balance and control paddle.
Another thing I love about this brand is its super generous discount code of 25% off under the discount code: bepickleballer
Every little bit discount counts when you’re getting a premium paddle. I’ll chat about this more later.
Let’s talk about the unboxing experience.
Unboxing Experience
To be honest, Warping Point’s Ascent unboxing experience was my first experience that made me more excited about testing a paddle. Most of my previous paddles had come in bags or cheap packaging (even my Joola Hyperion CFS 16mm), so it was fun that Warping Point upped the unboxing game.
Unboxing Warping Point’s Grasp Balance paddle did not disappoint.
Let’s start with the beautiful box.
I really liked the color designs of the box. I am not sure if you’ve ever gotten a Macbook pro box, but it’s such a nice box that I have many of those boxes around the house.
This Warping Point box reminds me of such a box.
First, you open up the box and see a really high quality cover. Now, it took me a little while to get used to this cover, but I was playing recently with another Warping Point paddle, and a friend complimented me on the cover, so kudos to the team.
Here’s a close up of the paddle cover.
Next, the paddle underneath is really quite beautiful.
I love a lot about the look and feel of this paddle, including the thinner handle that is slightly elongated. I could do a comfortable two handed backhand with this paddle.
In addition, the paddle is a 16mm paddle, but the edgeless design makes it appear thinner when comparing this paddle to my friend’s 16mm pickleball paddles.
Let’s talk about the playability of this paddle.
Playability
While this paddle looks amazing, I wanted to find out if this paddle could pack a punch.
The answer is a resounding yes. Let’s talk about control, spin and control.
Control
This paddle has a 4.125 inch grip that more easily allows you to move your hand, which helps provide more precise control.
The paddle also allows you to adjust the power and direction of your drop shots and dinks better. The Grasp Balance paddle may be the first of the paddles I’ve reviewed that has this grip type, and it really was unique and exceptional.
Spin
I love the raw T700 carbon fiber surface with its teflon coating. It gives me incredible spin, grip, and feedback on every shot.
Whether I’m hitting powerful topspins or controlling the ball’s trajectory, this surface design lets me stay in command on the court.
Plus, it adds a little bit of unpredictability that can throw off my opponents, making them miss shots and giving me the edge to score and win matches.
Power
When I hear balance, I think that the paddle may have good control and spin, but may be lacking in the power department.
This was not the case with the Warping Point Grasp paddle.
I felt that that the elongated design allowed much more power on my shots. In addition, the unibody and edgeless design provided a smoother hit that I felt gave me more hand speed, providing more power.
Ultimately, I was still able to provide solid power on my serves with a great spin and ample control to win games.
Price Considerations
This paddle currently retails at $179.99, but with the discount code: bepickleballer, you can get this paddle for as low as $135.00. Personally, I think this is a top paddle, so seeing such a huge discount makes me excited about this paddle even more.
Let’s go through the specifications.

Alternative Warping Point Grasp Paddles
I love how Warping Point provides a beautiful comparison of this new paddle line up.
Of my 25-50 pickleball paddles, many of my paddles range between 14 vs 16mm pickleball paddle thickness, so it was fun to see that Warping Point offers a 20mm option.
That is one thick paddle, and I love that it provides both control and forgiveness. I would be curious to try that paddle next.
Conclusion
Warping Point continues to offer an excellent product, and continue to be impressed with the research and develop and technology that puts Warping Point at the forefront of a great paddle.
As such, I am considering the Grasp power and control paddles, and looking forward to what’s next for this brand.
