9/27/2024 Update: I just found an incredible deal for the PBVMURTG pickleball paddle, but aren’t we talking about the JoJoLemon pickleball paddle?
You may not believe this, but I played with a $200+ paddle today against my friend who is probably in the 4.0-4.5 DUPR range. He beat me 3 games in a row, but then I switched to this PBVMURTG pickleball paddle in game 4, and won the game 11-3. I could not believe it.
Let’s get back to comparing the PBVMURTG to the JoJoLemon pickleball paddle.
Notice any similarity? But what about the price?
The price is where it gets interesting.
The PBVMURTG pickleball paddle is more than 50% cheaper than the JoJoLemon.
Also, please note that the link below helps support this website and allows me to write unbiased reviews as I get approximately $1.31 if you purchase this paddle through the link. That said, please do not feel like you have to use it!
You can compare that to the JoJoLemon pickleball paddle cost.
I just purchased this PBVMURTG paddle, and check out this unboxing experience. Check out my full review here.
Okay, honestly, I cannot wait to play with the PBVMURTG paddle even though I do not understand the brand title.
It does look like the JoJolemon paddle, and it’s about 1/3 the price at $32.99.
Personally, I loved the feel of the paddle. I played with it this morning, and I could not ask for more of such an inexpensive carbon fiber paddle.
7/25 Update: Another insane update. I added a 5th thing you need to know from what I found.
7/21 Update: Less than one hour after writing this article, I got an interesting email, so I added a 4th thing you need to know.
My sister knows how much I love studying/buying pickleball paddles (my pickleball paddle receipts) :-/, so she reached out to me recently to get a pickleball paddle recommendation for a friend with smaller hands.
I immediately looked at carbon fiber paddles in the 3.875-inch to 4.25-inch grip size. I had some brands in mind, but I wanted to give her a great recommendation.
So, to ensure I found the best one, I also looked on Amazon to compare to the brands I love. What caught my eye was JoJoLemon’s 4.8 rating pickleball paddle. The pickleball paddle is $99.99 with a $10 coupon (bepickleballer), similar to Vatic Pro’s discount code.
I will also include a couple of alternatives later in this blog post.
When I looked at the reviews, I didn’t notice anything odd about them. Here’s a picture.
That said, I wanted to see what JoJolemon’s website looked like, and that is when this story takes an interesting turn.
1. JoJolemon’s Website Is Odd
If you Google the company, you will find that the page Google takes you to is where JoJoLemon’s pitches 100% free testing of its paddles. That feels like an interesting tactic for a pickleball paddle brand to try to pitch to give you a paddle to test. One question I would have is whether there is a catch to the review. Or is it possible that you have to review the paddle on a website that filters out 3 stars, 2 stars, and 1 star and only points 4 and 5-star reviews to Amazon? I am not sure, but I am trying to test it myself.
I also found that the express interest form was odd because it misspelled Amazon, and did not have a space between Express and Interest. It did not feel like natural English.
What is That Facebook Page?
Next, I found the JoJolemon Facebook page quite amateurish. It was made on December 9, 2023, so the brand may not be ancient or just the “fan” page isn’t old. The page’s admin is Bon Wang who has very little information other than some Chinese characters and 6 friends, which didn’t exude confidence in a real profile.
2. JoJoLemon’s Address Makes No Sense
JoJoLemon’s “address” is 500 Terry Francine Street San Francisco, CA 94158 per its website below.
When I looked up that street in San Francisco (as I used to live there), I found many more addresses connected with it, including a pizza shop.
Now the kicker is that when you look up the address on Google Maps, check out what this address looks like. This picture appears to have been taken in April 2022, but I am unsure that this looks like a pizza shop or a pickleball paddle headquarters.
3. Paddle Design Eerily Familiar
The JoJoLemon pickleball paddle design caught my attention as it was similar to Vatic Pro’s design. There are small differences of course, but the V looks similar, and the logo placement, the text, and the black design comparison. There are however differences with the grey vs black border and some of the colors.
4) You Will Not Believe This
Less than one hour after posting this article, I got an email about getting a free paddle and testing the JoJolemon paddle.
Check out the language below that states you must purchase the paddle on Amazon, and then you have to give them your PayPal information to get a refund. You test for a week then share your 5-star review, and you get an additional $10 if you share photos and videos. That means you can make money and get a free paddle.
5) The JoJoLemon Paddle on Temu
Huge news, I found that someone on Reddit who had purchased the JoJoLemon pickleball paddle on Amazon found the same item on Temu.
So, I dug into Temu. It took a while to find, but I may have found the same paddle on Temu.
And, the best part of all, it’s $31.94, not the $89.99 per Amazon after the $10 coupon. ‘
Case solved? I think so.
Alternatives
My favorite alternatives to the JoJo Lemon paddle are the following paddles. Thankfully, each of these have a discount code that can help reduce your total purchase price.
1. Core Reaction Pro Pickleball Paddle
I absolutely love the Core Reaction Pro Pickleball paddle. Check out my full review. This paddle provided such a good combination of control and spin that it really elevated my game. It also didn’t diminish on the power, which I definitely appreciate.
Core Reaction also provides a 20% discount code (bepickleballer), which can really reduce your purchase price, which equates to over a $37 discount off of the total price!
2. Vatic Pro Prism Flash 16mm
In my opinion, the Vatic Pro Prism Flash 16mm is the best beginner paddle available right now. I own 2 of these paddles right now, and I wrote a full review.
I tested both the Vatic Pro Prism Flash 14mm and 16mm paddles, winning games with both, and found them superior to my Six Zero Double Black Diamond. The 14mm paddle excels in spin, power, and speed, while the 16mm paddle offers better control, with both having the same sweet spot size.
3. Volair Mach 2 Forza
The Volair Mach 2 Forza is my favorite overall paddle right now. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but I could not believe how well this paddle performed.
Check out my full review.
When I received the Volair Mach 2 Forza paddle, it felt like Christmas with its beautiful packaging and thoughtful extras. The unboxing was impressive, but the real highlight was the playability. I went 4-0 with this paddle, thanks to its perfect balance of control, spin, and power.
Whether it’s drop shots or spin serves, the paddle delivered on all fronts. I love how it combines everything I need in a paddle, and with the $17.99 discount (code: bepickleballer), it’s an even better deal for intermediate players like me.
So, should you purchase the JoJoLemon paddle?
Should You Purchase a JoJoLemon’s Paddle Based On My Review?
I am not sure what to think of JoJoLemon’s pickleball paddles. The paddles get great reviews on Amazon, but the design resembles Vatic Pro. I wonder how much different is the JoJoLemon paddle to this T700 paddle I found on Alibaba Express for under $20. This is partly why I built and iterated a pickleball paddle quiz to help you find the perfect paddle.
