I created this ” What pickleball paddle should you buy quiz?” below specifically for you. The problem this quiz is trying to solve for you is that there are 2985 USPA-approved pickleball paddles (not including paddles not yet approved), not to mention such variable nomex vs polymor core or 8mm-16mm paddle thickness.

So, which paddle is best for you?

In my day job, I build financial quizzes to help people get out of debt, and I used the same strategy to create a quiz that can help you pick the perfect paddle.

I used different variables when designing this quiz, including the best material for pickleball paddles.

Quiz Variables

Some of the key components of pickleball are your playability, power, control, spin, and hand speed. This is why I recently wrote an article covering the best beginner pickleball paddles article. There are many different variables to consider when choosing the perfect pickleball paddle.

For example, there are even nuances between a 14mm vs 16mm pickleball paddle thickness that may determine which one you choose.

Let’s go through each variable now.

Your Play Ability

I believe playability is one of the bigger variables when determining the best pickleball paddle for you.

For example, there is a vast difference between a 7-ounce 8 mm thickness paddle and a 10-ounce 16mm thickness paddle.

Also, carbon fiber is generally more expensive than graphite, fiberglass, and wood, so that is something to consider.

Power

Are you someone that has a great deal of power in their swing? If so, you may be looking for a heavier paddle that gives you both the power and the speed you are looking for.

You may also be looking for a fiberglass or graphite paddle that provides a bit more of a pop when you are hitting the ball. You also may look for a Nomex core over polymer and aluminum.

But, what if you opt for less power and more control?

Control

I prefer control.

If you are looking for a pickleball paddle that provides control, you may look for one with a carbon fiber face. Carbon fiber can give you a better grip on the ball than a fiberglass, graphite, or wood paddle.

You may also opt for a polymer core over an aluminum and Nomex.

Spin

In my play, control and speed go hand in hand. If you’re someone who likes to put a spin on the ball, then you’re probably going to be looking at a carbon fiber face and a polymer core.

The quiz may go through this as well, but you may be looking for a quiz with a bigger sweet spot.

Hand Speed

Are you looking for more aerodynamics when using your pickleball paddle? The pickleball paddle quiz may ask whether you like to play with great hand speed.

If so, you may look for a lighter-weight paddle in the 7-ounce range vs 8+ ounces to make it easier to move the paddle quickly.

Did the Pickleball Paddle Quiz help you?

I would love your feedback about the pickleball paddle quiz as I am constantly trying to improve it.
