Yes, the Selkirk pickleball paddle set from Costco is worth it in my book, considering Selkirk is one of the top pickleball paddle brands in the world.

The Costco bundle is only $69.99 at the warehouse and $79.99 online, and the paddles feel much higher quality than the price.

That said, if you are NOT a Costco member or if it’s not available in your area, you may check out this Selkirk Amazon Pickleball paddle set which has a 4.6 rating based on 2851 reviews.

Also, please note that the link below helps support this website and allows me to write unbiased reviews as I get approximately $3 if you purchase this paddle through the link. That said, please do not feel like you have to use it!

Let’s next talk about my experience.

The box comes with two pickleball paddles with the following technology:

  1. Edgesentry
  2. Fiberflex Fiberglass Face
  3. X4 Polymer Core
  4. SLK Contour Grip.

Generally, when I purchase paddle sets of 2 or more paddles, I think already it’s lesser quality, but this wasn’t the case here.

It also comes with 3 pickleballs, which I find very little value from because these balls often feel very low quality and are not my favorite pickleballs, and a sling bag, which is a nice add-on, but I also find no value out of the sling bag. I’d rather have a paddle cover.

Unboxing

What I liked about the unboxing experience is that the box bragged about it.

The paddles’ design are nice, but I didn’t think they looked necessarily aesthetically pleasing in the blue and red option.

Here’s the back of the box.

What I really like about these paddles is the feel of the face. I love the fiberglass face, and the polymer core as I feel it gives me a better grip on the ball for better control.

What I Like

What I like about this paddle set:

Control

I liked the control that I felt with the ball. It’s most likely due to the face of the paddle, but I would play with this paddle again.

Spin

I haven’t had as much playing time as I would have liked, but the face of the paddle gives me the impression that this paddle can provide a spin.

Price

I really appreciate the price of these paddles, considering you get 2 quality paddles, outdoor balls, and a pickleball bag.

What I Didn’t Like

I believe the grip could have been improved as I felt it was jostling around a bit more than my other paddles.

Power

I thought that because it felt more lightweight I didn’t have as much power as some of my heavier paddles.

Alternatives

My favorite alternatives to the Costco pickleball paddle set are the following paddles. Thankfully, each of these have a discount code that can help reduce your total purchase price.

1. Core Reaction Pro Pickleball Paddle

I absolutely love the Core Reaction Pro Pickleball paddle. Check out my full review. This paddle provided such a good combination of control and spin that it really elevated my game. It also didn’t diminish on the power, which I definitely appreciate.

Core Reaction also provides a 20% discount code (bepickleballer), which can really reduce your purchase price, which equates to over a $37 discount off of the total price!

2. Vatic Pro Prism Flash 16mm

In my opinion, the Vatic Pro Prism Flash 16mm is the best beginner paddle available right now. I own 2 of these paddles right now, and I wrote a full review.

I tested both the Vatic Pro Prism Flash 14mm and 16mm paddles, winning games with both, and found them superior to my Six Zero Double Black Diamond. The 14mm paddle excels in spin, power, and speed, while the 16mm paddle offers better control, with both having the same sweet spot size.

3. Volair Mach 2 Forza

The Volair Mach 2 Forza is my favorite overall paddle right now. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but I could not believe how well this paddle performed.

Check out my full review.

When I received the Volair Mach 2 Forza paddle, it felt like Christmas with its beautiful packaging and thoughtful extras. The unboxing was impressive, but the real highlight was the playability. I went 4-0 with this paddle, thanks to its perfect balance of control, spin, and power.

Whether it’s drop shots or spin serves, the paddle delivered on all fronts. I love how it combines everything I need in a paddle, and with the $17.99 discount (code: bepickleballer), it’s an even better deal for intermediate players like me.

Summary:

The Costco pickleball paddle set is my favorite multi-paddle set I purchased. I would recommend it to a friend.
