I own just over 60 pickleball paddles, and 2 of my favorites are Joola pickleball paddles. Joola is also one of the best pickleball paddles brands, so I knew I had to share the best Joola pickleball paddles you can buy. In addition, my first premium paddle was a Joola paddle because I wanted the same paddle Ben Johns played with.

First, I am going to share the best Joola pickleball paddles you can buy, and then I am going to share how to watch out for fake Joola paddles from my personal experience.

1. Best Overall Joola Pickleball Paddle

The Joola Ben Johns Pro IV pickleball paddle is the best pickleball paddle on the market right now. I liked this paddle so much I wrote this entire comprehensive review.

Here’s why.

When I first started using this paddle, I hit the court with a buddy of mine who plays at a solid 4.0 DUPR level. We focused on dinking drills, and he kept telling me how sharp my dinking looked, said it was the best he’s seen from me.

Honestly, I was shocked at how dialed-in my dinking felt. I was landing shot after shot exactly where I wanted. The consistency just clicked.

Control

Let’s get into control, because I’m kind of a control freak when it comes to paddles. I want to feel like I can guide the ball wherever I want it to go.

The Joola Perseus Gen 4 totally delivers on that. The carbon fiber face looks clean and performs even better, it’s smooth, crisp, and gives you that predictable touch you want in tight moments.Joola added this TechFlex Power (TFP) technology too, which is supposed to be patent-pending. I’m not sure what magic is behind it, but it seems to work.

One thing that caught my attention was Joola going with a slim edge guard instead of going edgeless like some brands do, my Holbrook’s Aero paddle come to mind. I actually like having an edge, and it didn’t seem to mess with my control at all.

Power

Now let’s talk about the pop. This paddle packs serious power. I handed it off to a friend who already has a monster serve, and with the Gen 4, he was ripping it even harder. It’s no wonder that this is currently the best pickleball paddle for power in 2025.

I’ve never seen him serve with that much pace. I felt it too. I got the 16mm version instead of the thinner 14mm, thinking I might lose a little heat for the sake of control, but that wasn’t the case. It still hits like a truck.

Spin

I also tested the Joola Pro IV for spin recently, and it didn’t disappoint. I like using a right-to-left spin on my serves, and I was able to get about 6 inches of movement off the bounce even with pace behind it.

That’s impressive. I’d put the spin right up there with the Volair Mach 2 Forza, which is saying something.

At the end of the day, this paddle really feels like the swiss army knife of pickleball paddles, strong in control, power, and spin.

Just be ready for the price tag, because this one nearly blew my budget. I was deciding between purchasing on Amazon or Joola, but finally decided on Amazon because of the great return policy. That said, I ended up keeping this one.

2. Best Runner Up Joola Paddle

I won’t spend nearly as much time on the Joola Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm, but it was my #1 paddle before the Joola Ben Johns IV Perseus Pro.

Here’s why.

Firstly, from my review, you will

And finally, this paddle didn’t do nearly as much on my budget. You can often find this paddle under $175 on Amazon.

3. Best Budget Joola Paddle

In my recent YouTube video covering the best beginner paddles, I received two comments asking about the Joola Agassi Edge and how it compared to my favorite beginner paddle in the $100 range.

I hadn’t tried it before, so I decided to purchase the JOOLA Agassi Edge 16mm Pickleball Paddle and try out for myself.

I wrote a comparison review, but what I wanted to tell you is that Agassi Edge gave a better experience with dinking and the pop is really nice. Overall, both had pros and cons, but check out my game play with both paddles:

I played a match switching off between paddles to try to glean as much as I could from the game play. Here’s what happened.

  1. I started with the JoolaAgassi Edge and started the game up 6-1
  2. When I switched to the Vatic Pro Prism Flash, my opponent came back and then I was only up 7-6
  3. I switched back to the Joola Agassi Edge, and barely won the game 11-9.

After that I switched to the Vatic Pro Prism Flash, and the game was a battle, but I ended up winning the game 11-7.

4. Best Under $50 Joola Paddle

The JOOLA Journey Pickleball Paddle is one of the first Joola pickleball paddles I ever owned. It also may be the only Joola paddle that is under $50. I do like the design and the frame of this paddle. The grip was nice, but this is a classic fiberglass paddle, so I would not prefer this paddle over other paddles. I prefer carbon fiber as it’s the best material for a pickleball paddle.

If you are looking for an excellent budget paddle, check out the best budget paddles under $50 as there are some carbon fiber T700 paddles that are really nice.

If you are set on a Joola paddle, this paddle isn’t bad. I would take this fiberglass paddle over my other 10 or so other fiberglass paddles.

5. Honorable Mention

I put the Joola Perseus 3s Pickleball Paddle in the honorable mention category as it’s a great paddle, but I would prefer the less expensive Joola Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16mm over this paddle every day.

In addition, this paddle tends to be around $30 less than the Joola Ben Johns Pro IV, and I would 100% take the Pro IV over the Perseus 3s. I believe that the over feel is much better, including the control and power.

All that to say, the Perseus 3s is still a great paddle that Ben Johns used himself, so I can’t discount that by any means.

6. Avoid Fake Joola Paddles

Because Joola has some of the best pickleball paddles on the market, you need to look for fake paddles. I will share my experience purchasing a fake Joola Perseus 3s paddle.

Firstly, you may want to make sure that the paddle has the Joola branding on the paddle. As you can see below, the paddle has BenJohns, and Perseus 3s, but it does not say “Joola”.

Picture of the fake Joola Ben Johns paddle and how to avoid.

Second, if you would like a real Joola paddle, consider where you are purchasing the paddle from. For example, Amazon is linked with the Joola store, so it may only receive shipments that Joola sends.

If you are purchasing the paddle from a site like Temu or Alibaba, your risk that it is not a real paddle could be higher.

Finally, you may have some risk in purchasing new paddles on places such as Facebook marketplace or Craigslist, so it could be helpful to borrow someone’s actual paddle (if you can) and take it with you to compare to the paddle your purchasing, especially if it’s a used pickleball paddle.

Conclusion

The Joola pickleball paddle brand is one of the best pickleball paddle brands in the world for a reason. In addition to having such amazing players such as Ben Johns using the paddles, you get a different experience that you don’t get with any other brand.

In addition, the brand continues to come up with new technologies like the NFC chip which are cool and unique.
