After I had an amazing experience with the Beatnik X Monster pickleball paddle, I was elated to try the Beatnik Air Blast pickleball paddle.
With over 60 paddles in my collection (yes, it’s an addiction!), I have a pretty solid basis for comparison. This quirky hobby has given me the chance to really understand the nuances between different paddles.
What immediately drew me to Beatnik was their willingness to use materials and technologies that stand out from the crowd. You won’t find these same components in most mainstream paddles.
First Impressions
I absolutely love the design of the Beatnik Air Blast paddle. It has a beautiful B with red and white. The paddle has a really long paddle face.

Here’s the side of the paddle, which I love to see the brand’s name.

In addition, I mentioned this about the X Monster that I absolutely love the grip on this paddle. It molds with your hands better than any of my other paddles.

First impressions are great, but how well does this paddle actually play on the court. Let’s get started.
Playability
I like to compare paddles based on control, spin and power.
Control
The control on this paddle is incredible. I was able to maintain excellent touch as the kitchen line and on the serves. In addition, I believe that my third shots also have improved with the help of this paddle.
I could consistently hit soft dinks that just cleared the net, and my reset shots stayed low and tight. The balanced sweet spot meant I wasn’t sacrificing placement for power.
Spin
The texture on the Air Blast face creates impressive spin potential. I was able to hit serves with heavy topspin that dropped quickly into the service box, creating awkward returns.
My cross-court dinks also had more side spin than usual, making them harder to handle. The paddle seems to naturally impart rotation without requiring exaggerated wrist action.
Power
The Air Blast delivers power without requiring you to swing out of your shoes. I found I could put pace on the ball with more controlled swings.
My third shot drives had noticeably more zip, and I was forcing my opponents deeper in the court than usual. This created more opportunities to attack when they returned with high, soft shots.
I have loved playing with this paddle, and played a competitive opponent this week and took the game away with this Air Blast paddle.
Specifications
The new Beatnik Edgeless Pro Series paddles have quickly become favorites among serious players who appreciate their thoughtful design.
Players often comment on how the triple-layered construction with its 16mm honeycomb core feels both solid and responsive in hand. The aluminum-reinforced carbon fiber face delivers exceptional touch at the net, while the vibration-dampening features have proven especially popular with those who play frequently and want to avoid wrist strain.
Many who’ve switched to these paddles note how the edgeless design with its fiberglass tubular braid feels more durable than expected, while the expanded sweet spot has helped improve consistency.
